Robert G. Bottoms

Robert G. Bottoms is the Interim Dean and President of Seabury, with a term beginning January 1, 2010 and ending June 30, 2011.

Bob retired in July 2008 after 22 years as president of DePauw University. He holds a bachelor degree from Birmingham-Southern College, a bachelor of divinity degree from Emory University, and a doctorate from Vanderbilt University.  His career in higher education began when he was appointed chaplain and assistant to the president at Birmingham-Southern College.  He was later assistant dean and assistant professor of church and ministry at Vanderbilt Divinity School.  In 1978, Bob became vice president for university relations at DePauw; he also held the post of executive vice president there before being named president in 1986.

In addition to his work at Seabury, Bob also serves on the board of the Joyce Foundation in Chicago and has been a consultant to the Lilly Endowment, the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations and the Fund for Theological Education.  He has written articles and opinion pieces for The New York Times, The Indianapolis Star and the Chicago Tribune. He and his wife, Gwen Vickers Bottoms, are active members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Bloomington, Indiana.

Elizabeth Butler

Elizabeth Butler is Vice President at Seabury, a position she has held since 2006. Elizabeth holds an M.Div. from Seabury and is a graduate of Harvard University. From 1997-2002 and then again from 2003-2005, she served as curate then Associate Rector at Church of the Holy Comforter in Kenilworth, Illinois. Elizabeth has two children--Wallace, age 10 and Abbott, age 7--and is engaged to be married to Jim Jameson.

Ruth Frey

Ruth Frey is Director of Continuing Education and Advancement at Seabury. She has fifteen years of experience in adult education and learning, including serving as the director of program at the College of Preachers at the Washington National Cathedral and director of the ACTS DMin in preaching program. Ruth holds an M.Div. from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC and a B.A. from Hobart & William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. She is an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Chicago and serves on the Cathedral Chapter at the Cathedral Church of St. James.

Susan Harlow

Susan Harlow is Seabury's Director of Congregational Development and Professor of Practical Theology. She is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and has taught for 17 years in theological education. A graduate of Hollins University, Susan earned her Master of Divinity at Andover Newton Theological School and a Masters of Theology at Harvard Divinity School. Her doctorate is from Columbia University in its joint program with Union Theological Seminary in Religion and Education. Her life partner is the Rev. Dr. Bonnie A. Perry.

Mark Millotto

Mark Miliotto is the Director of Finance and Administration for Seabury.  He joined the seminary in October 2006. Prior to coming to Seabury, Mark lived in Denver for 14 years where he worked in a variety of bank finance positions.  His banking experience in Denver includes serving as a Regional CFO for BOK Financial, a Chief Financial Officer for a small, local bank, and a Financial Analyst for Bank One (now Chase).  Before his experience in Denver, Mark was a Financial Analyst for United Way of New York City. Mark has a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University. In addition to his work at Seabury, Mark serves on the board of the Evangelical Education Society of the Episcopal Church.  He is married to Beth Taylor, a Seabury seminarian.  Mark and Beth enjoy spending time with their two young children: Gianni, age 7 and Sofia, age 4.  Mark and his family are active members of All Saints Episcopal Church in Chicago.

Ellen Wondra

Ellen Wondra is Seabury's Professor of Theology and Ethics and Acadamic Dean. She has degrees from Pomona College, the Church Divinity School of the Pacific, and the Divinity School of the University of Chicago.  Her teaching and research interests include the theology and practice of authority, the intersections of gender, race, and class, and the development of Anglican theology for a global church.  A widely published author, she is also the Editor in Chief of the Anglican Theological Review, which is headquartered at Seabury. Prof. Wondra has served the Episcopal Church in numerous capacities at both the diocesan and the national level and has been a member of the Anglican-Roman Catholic Consultation in the U.S.A. since 1992.
